BTS Netflix Concert Attracts 18.4 Million Viewers

Netflix announced yesterday that approximately 18.4 million people worldwide watched the live stream of the concert presented by the famous K-pop group BTS last Saturday, following their return to the music scene. In a statement, Netflix said that the significant turnout demonstrates that the group's 'influence has grown stronger' during their nearly four-year hiatus from performances. The live stream of the group's performance from the heart of the South Korean capital was ranked among the top 10 weekly shows on Netflix in 80 countries and secured the number one spot in 24 countries. The seven members of the group appeared on stage together for the first time in nearly four years, which they spent completing their mandatory military service. The concert drew more than 100,000 people to central Seoul, according to Hybe, the group's production company, and was marked by strict security measures with the deployment of around 15,000 security personnel. The group has recently released a new musical album titled 'Arirang,' which sold four million copies on its first day, according to the production company. The group is set to embark on a world tour starting next April 9, featuring 82 shows in 34 cities across Asia, North and South America, and Europe.
