How military observers and Ukrainian leaders noted that North Korean soldiers have not undergone contemporary combat training and are used as "cannon fodder for the artillery of their Russian allies". The generals of the United Nations Command in South Korea announced on Friday that the dictatorial regime is trying to "accelerate the processes of observation and preparation for the dispatch of additional troops".

In the notes of one of the soldiers, extracted in December 2024, it is described how North Korean troops are used for the concealment of conscription and attracting attention to Ukrainian drones, while other soldiers lie in wait to shoot them down.
