Yesterday, in the presidential complex in Seoul, there were discovered balloons filled with air, loaded with trash, which, according to the authorities' statement, were launched from North Korea. Local media reported that among the balloons were leaflets, targeting President of South Korea Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Keon Hee.

Typically, activists from South Korea send propaganda balloons into the North, filled with leaflets or dollars and other material valuables. In response, Pyongyang launches air balloons filled with trash, claiming that this is a reaction to the provocations from South Korea.

The South Korean presidency stated in its statement, published in the "France Press" agency, that the balloon that arrived from the North "exploded in the air, while the leaflets scattered in different parts of the Yongsan office," referring to the presidential complex in the capital.

The safety assessment showed that the balloons do not pose a danger and do not suggest contamination. This is already the second case when an air balloon, launched from North Korea, reaches the presidential complex located in the center of Seoul, in a zone with a ban on aerial flights, protected by dozens of guards.

This incident occurred shortly after Kim Yu Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, possessing significant influence, accused South Korean activists of sending balloons with materials, contradicting the North, and blamed Seoul for sending drones to Pyeongyang.
