The associated press reported that in the Republic of Korea, prices for consumer goods increased by 2% for the second month in a row in February. This was a consequence of the rise in tariffs on electricity and transportation services. Prices for food products also rose, including rice and meat.

Specialists note that the increase in prices in the country is caused by both internal and external factors. The weakening of the national currency and the rise in oil prices also had an impact on inflation. It is expected that the government will implement measures to stabilize prices and reduce pressure on consumers.

"Price growth in February negatively affects the budgets of many families, especially in conditions of economic instability due to the pandemic," noted economist from South Korea.
