The album is described as embodying BTS's identity as a group that started in Korea, along with "the longing and deep love hidden in their hearts." This is the group's first collective project since the compilation album "Proof" was released in June 2022. The new album derives its name from the Korean folk song "Arirang," which is often described as the country's unofficial anthem.
