On Thursday, the former Minister of Defense of South Korea appeared before the court, accused of conspiracy to overthrow the legally elected government during a brief attempt at an armed coup.
The charges against the former minister are related to his involvement in an attempt to forcibly overthrow the current government in the country. The sides proceeded to consider the factual material, which was called to confirm or deny the guilt of the accused. He remains in his position and intends to maintain his innocence before the court.
"I categorically deny the charges against me, and I am ready to cooperate with the courts to establish the truth in this matter," the former minister stated before the jury.
