An Airbus A321-200 of the airline Air Busan bound for Hong Kong caught fire before taking off from Gimhae International Airport in Busan, South Korea. The incident occurred at 10:26 PM local time, with flames starting at the tail of the aircraft, according to firefighters. All 169 passengers and seven crew members were evacuated via a slide. Four people were injured during the evacuation, two of whom needed medical attention at a nearby hospital. It took nearly an hour to extinguish the flames that spread across the fuselage of the aircraft. In a statement, authorities mentioned: "It is a miracle that all passengers and crew were successfully evacuated." This incident occurred days after a Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 crashed and exploded upon landing at Muan airport, resulting in the deaths of 179 of the 181 people on board, on December 29th.
