A fire at a luxury hotel construction site in Busan has led to six fatalities and seven injuries. Emergency services were deployed swiftly to manage the situation.

Around the site of the incident, there were about 100 workers when a fire broke out, reported the fire department and the France Press agency. Allegedly, the fire started on the first floor of the building, where workers were isolating materials, one of the sources told journalists.

Six people died, and seven received injuries as a result of the fire, which broke out at the construction site of the luxurious hotel Banyan Tree, in the southern coast of Korea, reported the National Fire Agency. The Acting President of Korea, Choi San-mook, issued a statement to the responsible parties "to gather all forces and ensure security."

The fire broke out around 11:00 local time (2:00 PM GMT) at the construction site of the Banyan Tree hotel, the authorities specified.
