The president of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol, has been removed from office. He was sentenced to prison following a court decision on Friday, in response to a request from his lawyers about revoking the arrest order, according to the Yonhap agency. Yoon Yun-lyo filed a complaint a month ago regarding the extension of her client’s arrest, claiming that the charges had been presented after the arrest deadline had expired, when he was detained for an unsuccessful attempt to introduce ordinary courts in December. "We are unreservedly expecting that the court will inevitably revoke the measures for preventive detention and stop violations of judicial procedures," his lawyer stated at that time.
