
As reported by the Coast Guard, this morning, a fishing boat caught fire near the Bon area in the southwest of Seongnam. According to information from South Korea, the Coast Guard announced the disappearance of six people after the fire broke out on the boat, which had 11 people on board, off the southwestern coast of the country. Five individuals were rescued.
The Coast Guard mobilized ten vessels to the scene. Five crew members were rescued with the help of neighboring fishing boats. Searches continue for the remaining six missing people; however, due to warnings about dangerous waves in the area, operations to rescue them are complicated.
Fire brigades were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire.
