Samsung Launches App to Combat Motion Sickness

Samsung has launched the new Hearapy app, which helps combat motion sickness. It is compatible with the new Galaxy Buds 4 Pro headphones. The South Korean company explained that the new app works by playing a low-frequency sinusoidal wave (100 Hz), aiming to stimulate the user's balance system, thereby alleviating motion sickness without the need for medication. The low-frequency sinusoidal wave (100 Hz) must be listened to for 60 seconds before travel, with the option to adjust the duration from 40 to 120 seconds. According to Samsung, the app's effect lasts for up to two hours, and the process can be repeated if necessary. The program is based on research conducted by Nagoya University in Japan, where researchers conducted an experiment to determine the most effective tone for stimulating the vestibular system and found that listening to a 100 Hz tone at a volume of 80-85 decibels for one minute improves balance.
