The Ministry of Trade of South Korea stated on Sunday that Seoul and Washington will hold trade consultations this week at the invitation of the U.S.

Details about the upcoming negotiations are not disclosed. It is known that the delegations of both countries will be led by high-ranking officials. As noted in the statement, the meeting will be devoted to discussing trade issues relevant to the interests of both sides.

"We expect a productive dialogue with our colleagues from the U.S. on the issue of trade," the Ministry of Trade of South Korea reported.

The source of the ministry also specified that the meeting will be held in an online format due to the pandemic.
